Hovsep Karsh

Hovsep Karsh was born on 23rd of December,1908. He has been described as one of the greatest portrait photographers of the 20th century. As an Armenian Genocide survivor, Karsh migrated to Canada as a refugee. He desired to study medicine, but he became photographer. Karsh settled in Ottawa and opened his first studio in 1932. He started his career as a portrait photographer.
